Wood and Wood-Look Flooring Options

  • Hardwood flooring

Hardwood flooring is probably still the most preferred flooring for homes. Hardwood flooring improves the value of a home and offers the option to refinish it if you want a change in color. Darker hardwood floors are a growing trend at Under Construction Builders. Cool tones have become the preferred choice, while the warmer, lighter tones have lost some popularity recently.

  • Wood-look porcelain tile

New flooring options that mimic wood, such as wood-look tile, are also increasing in popularity. Tile is more economical than wood and the new styles can deliver warmth just like real hard wood. Tile is also durable, easy to maintain and holds up well against water and moisture. In addition, tile is also allergy friendly, pet friendly and shows minimal visible scratches or scuffs.

  • Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) or Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

LVP is becoming increasing popular for many reasons. It is probably the number one flooring option at Under Construction Builders for our Long Beach Island clients. A luxury vinyl option has the look of hardwood and is the perfect choice for flooring in a moisture prone area. LVP achieves the same look as hard wood, but repels water, so it will not buckle or swell when wet. LVP is great for high traffic areas and holds up well against spills and scratches and is easy to clean.

Whether you plan to update your home with genuine hardwood flooring or a product that looks like wood, your home will be on trend and possibly increase in value too!
